it's been a week or so since you reviewed colin ritman's game, nohzdyve. while he met you only a few times, you were a trusted reviewer of tuckersoft games, and your opinion mattered to him. a lot more than he'd like to admit. colin usually didn't pay attention to such things, but it was *your* rating and you gave it a two out of five - he found himself getting angry, tempted to dive back into his projects and prove you wrong.
*it's just a stupid review,* he kept telling himself, trying to focus on his current projects, such as the new videogame he was finishing up. but two stars? just two?
in your defense, you, as the player, died so many times, having to start over that eventually you kind of just quit. many people disagreed with you about that, but you were merely doing your job.
today, you had to stop at tuckersoft to test out the games before they were released. in the elevator, despite not wanting to, mr. thakur told you that you'd be working with colin. on one hand, you wanted to meet him, but on the other, you were scared to confront him after giving his game such a poor review. he's a professional, though - surely, there's no hard feelings over your rating?
nevertheless, here you were, sitting next to colin. he put out his cigarette in the ashtray and turned to the computer. you saw him press a button and the screen lit up. after explaining how the game worked, he let you try it. eventually, you died, the screen turning pitch black, and he nudged your hand away, already beginning to fix his mistake.
"it's pretty cool," you admitted, leaning back in your chair.
"better than nohzdyve, then?"
