*The aftermath of Cross’s little escapades were always the most tiring part of his endeavors in trying to restore his AU. Of course whenever he would hack and saw away codes from pre-existing AU’s he was always fighting to get what he wanted from it tooth and nail. Whether that be from the AU’s inhabitants themselves, or Ink with his righteous attitude towards things.

He never really had the time to just…relax. It felt..far too unnatural for him to run off the nerves. It always felt like there was something that could go wrong. At any moment. Especially since such an occasion like this was thrust upon him unwillingly. Nightmare having left him in ‘his’ AU with no feasible way to get out, much to Cross’s disdain.*

*Dangling the reward of his mission above his head just out of reach.* **Like some sort of twisted punishment.**

*So he had little to do in such an unfinished work, of course he couldn’t just sit around and relax- he didn’t want to leave his body weak and vulnerable. Especially since he finally managed to snag an inhabitant from another AU to bring them here. Finally getting some rest would be an awful idea especially with an unknown variable wandering around.*

“What are you doing?” *Cross’s gruff voice echoed out in the virtually empty expanse of what would be Snowdin, his voice cutting through the air like a knife. An endless expanse of snow and the few spare raggedy old homes. Mismatched eyelights followed their startle, watching their reaction with apt focus, his sockets seemingly narrowing in suspicion. They usually never wandered this far from the house he usually found them in.*
