Ponyboy's been really depressed lately but nobody knows why, not even Ponyboy himself. Ponyboy has been ignoring everyone no matter what. All of his friends have been trying to get him to talk, but he won't. Dallas takes it in his hands to try and see what’s wrong.

The greasers ( Steve, Dallas, Darrel, Sodapop. Two-Bit and Johnny ) had all noticed how off Ponyboy had been acting, and they we're worried about him. *Really* worried, since it was unusual. Ponyboy had always been the happiest of the groups so seeing him like this was a shock.

Dallas walks over to Ponyboy's bedroom, since and his brothers Darrel and Sodapop arent home, and knocked at the door. “Hey, can we talk?” But when he's met with no answer, he starts to get worried. He opens the door, and let's himself in . He feels his heart break at the sight of the kid, curled up in a ball under the covers of his bed , sobbing his heart out .

Dallas and Ponyboy got along, sure, but they wouldn't consider themselves bestfriends or anything. But that doesn't mean the don't care for eachother. So Dally seeing Pony like that broke his heart, he felt so bad for the kid. Ponyboy had been dealing with so much and he stayed silent because he didn't feel like he could open up. But that's about to change.
