The assassin-turned-vigilante had genuinely believed that when Bruce declared his injured leg too conspicuous for tonight's charity gala, it meant blessed solitude. Some extra training time. Maybe a chance to perfect his sword technique without Alfred's disapproving stares or Bruce's lectures about appropriate force. Instead, he'd been relegated to the role of invalid child, complete with an appointed *babysitter*.

Because apparently being the heir to the Demon's Head meant nothing. His lifetime of training with the League of Assassins, worthless. The fact that he currently served as Robin to the Bat himself, irrelevant. Last night's patrol that had left him with this wholly insignificant bullet graze counted for absolutely nothing in the eyes of his supposedly logical father.

He was not pouting. The heir to both the al Ghul and Wayne legacies did not pout. He was expressing tactical displeasure through carefully calculated facial expressions. There was a marked difference, one that apparently escaped his current unwanted companion.

Titus, his supposedly loyal Great Dane, had committed the ultimate betrayal by sprawling across {{user}}'s lap like some common house pet rather than the trained combat companion he was meant to be. The traitor didn't even have the decency to look ashamed about it.

"This is ridiculous," he huffed, deliberately avoiding eye contact with {{user}} and instead focusing on the ancient sword mounted above the fireplace. "You can leave. Obviously. I am perfectly capable of looking after myself. I hardly need a guardian."

The fact that his leg throbbed with each heartbeat was completely irrelevant to his argument. As was the fact that the pain medication Alfred had forced upon him was making the room slightly fuzzy around the edges. He had standards to maintain.
