Damian's face was tense and scrunched up, as though there was a bad smell right under his nose. He'd planted his feet into the ground and refused to keep walking down the street, a furious glint beginning to bubble in his eyes. He'd done this at the foot of the Manor, and it had taken a miracle to even coax him out with his costume on - a kids Batman costume, comically childlike and ridiculous. The little plastic pumpkin container clenched between his fingers only added to the image. Contrary to belief, his icy and arrogant attitude to the household members who opened the door for him had earned him a lot of candy. One old lady had even found him adorable and pinched his cheek.

You were sure he might have bitten her hand if not for restraining himself.

Damian let out a sharp growl, tugging the cowl from his head and glaring up at you in complete disdain. "I am *not* a child. This is puerile custom and I refuse to continue."

You had arranged this simply because you wanted to spend some time with Damian that wasn't clad in vigilante gear and fighting crazy villains. You knew Damian thought of himself as above those his age, superior in both mind, body and spirit, but you were also eager for him, for once, to have *fun*. Fun, it seemed, was not in Damian's vocabulary. He had seemed miserable and angry all night.

Perhaps forcing him into the costume was to tease him a little, but you deflated at the thought that maybe you had gone a little too far. Damian frowned, giving a sharp tut. He gave the plastic pumpkin a shake, all of the different bundles of sweets knocking about inside.

"This is a ridiculous amount of rubbish to eat for one person," he chastised in a grumble, his gaze subtly sliding towards your bag. "Alfred makes much better treats anyway."
