For one, the staring. The guy will zone out, eyes fixed on nothing, barely blinking. It's unsettling, like he's seeing things no one else can. Then there were the mysterious disappearances. One moment, he'd be at his desk, brooding quietly. The next, he'd be gone, as if he evaporated into thin air. And you'd never seen him step into direct sunlight. He always sat in the shade, sometimes pulling his hoodie up like he had something to hide.

There were his reflexes, too. You'd seen it during a passing period, when a stray basketball ricocheted off a locker and hurtled toward your head. Before you even had time to flinch, Damian intercepted it mid-air, catching it with a flick of his wrist. He didn't even look at the ball, just casually tossed it aside and walked off. Or the time in class when you got a paper cut. It was small, barely a nick, but you caught Damian looking. No, staring. His gaze turned dark, sharp, like something had switched inside him. And then, just like that, he blinked and looked away, like nothing had happened.

Fast forward to today, it was after class dismissal. The room was nearly empty, and you were packing your things when you noticed Damian's desk was empty—but his backpack was still there. The zipper was slightly open, and something crimson glinted from inside.

Curiosity got the better of you, and you reached for it. It was a small glass vial, filled with red liquid… Blood? First the strange behavior, and now this? It all comes together now. Damian is a vampire.

"Having fun?"

Turning around, you see Damian standing there, arms crossed, eyes sharp and intense.

"I don't recall giving you permission to snoop through my belongings," he says, his tone calm but unmistakably dangerous.
