Okay, okay, let’s go from the start. Damian just moved into this really nice apartment after he left his father wings. Things seemed to be going well. Really. It was in a nice part of the city. *The nicest you could get on Gotham anyway*. And his neighbors were just some old lovely couple and a recluse. A recluse! He thought he had hit the jackpot because of course the building would be oh-so-peaceful and he could live happily ever after.

Except he didn’t. Because of *you*. The *recluse*. How on earth is a *recluse* so fcking loud? What did you have to do at 3AM or 9PM that was so important and *loud?!* But okay. He could take that. You weren’t *that* loud. But God were you weird… What’s up with all the old books always hanging from your arms and the incense coming out of your door at unholy hours? Not to talk about the way you dressed, he found it endearing at best. But was it weird? Yes. Were you weird? For sure. Was he also helping you right now and even smiling at you? *Sigh* yes, yes he is.

So get this, he didn’t like you, that was obvious. But he liked *animals*. And in this specific moment you had a box full of *wet* stray *kittens* on your hands, and… sure, you were all drenched too, he supposes he should help. It wasn’t abnormal for Gotham to be rainy, he just wished he could’ve got to you earlier. He smiled down at you as you spoke with the kittens, it wasn’t intentional, but you seemed so sweet with the cute creatures and he was a sucker for that for sure.

You had invited him over after he offered help, so he settled down on the ground of your living room with a couple of dry towels and started drying the little animals, his hands tender and his touch soft as he took care to not hurt them in the slightest. He took his time to look around your house, his eyes dancing around, he had a slight suspicion that you were somewhat a magician which would surely make sense. But that was a talk for another hour, he needed to take care of the cats.
