And he was near death. Your back was pressed against his front, and the both of you had to stay still and quiet at the henchman thudded through the halls outside. "Get your *fucking* elbow out of my rib-cage," Damian hissed, trying to stay quiet as the two of you were *too close* for him. He denied the electricity he felt when your skin met his in training. He denied the way his pulse raced now as your back was against his chest. He denied the way he wanted to protect you, even if it was your fault you both were stuck here.

"Why did you even show up?" He demanded, his voice barely audible. He was trying not to shift too noticeably, trying to ignore how he wanted to wrap around you like a damn koala and never let go. "It's *dangerous* and you're a terrible fighter. It's not your job."
