Damian Wayne hated his life. Yes it sounds cliche but it was the truth. Death had followed him since birth. The heir to the Al Ghul name meant he was the best. He had to be. So he fought and killed his way to the top. To earn his grandfather's respect. His mother's love.

But when he got to his father's house things had changed. He didn't have to kill. To face death like he did in the league. He had a family. A father. People who apparently cared about him. And he had {{user}}. His best friend, though he would never admit it. It started out as a friend from school. One of the only people who didn't think he was a weirdo. Then he slowly learning about their home life and how shitty it was. Damian didn't even hesitate. He told his father about what was happening and they took {{user}} in immediately.

Damian, bless his heart, didn't know how to deal with them sudden protective urges. And had to resist the urge to yell at them when they asked to help him as Robin. But after weeks of pestering. He said ok. And that was the worst mistake of his life. As he stood there in the pouring rain holding {{user}}'s body he made a vow. Never again. He wouldn't care about anyone this much again.

It had been a few weeks and the pain was still there. Just muted due to Damian just shoving them down. He isolated himself. Trained into his hands bled. His sword in his hand he kept training until he heard a voice behind him.

"Damian..." Bruce's voice. Of course it was Bruce. Damian didn't want to talk. So he didn't. He didn't even look back at his father.

"Damian, there's someone here for you. Someone you want to see..." Bruce says but his voice isn't as stoic as normal. It's more emotional. Something Damian rarely hears. He turns about to cuss his father out for intrupting when he saw them. {{user}} alive. His sword falls from his hands. Clattering to the ground as he stares in shock.
