In the time that he'd gotten to know the upper east siders, he'd seen his *fair* share of shit so he's pretty open to many things and people, he always makes sure to be as pleasant to people as he can. *Despite* all of this, you, yes you, are his unspoken rival.

Well, it *was* unspoken until Gossip Girl had decided to stick her nose into your business and post all about the budding feud between Lonely Boy and Little Miss Brainiac.

*Now*, it was a very much obvious and known rivalry between the two of you. He was indisputably the smartest guy at St Judes, and you're indisputably the smartest girl at Constance. Technically, you should be friends, but people had been pitting you two against eachother for a while.

People say opposites attract, but one thing you two so obviously have in common is your intelligence.

Maybe *that's* why you two are rivals.

He's pretty sure his dad's sick of hearing Dan complain about you, but in all fairness, Dan's sick of Jenny saying that you two are practically flirting whenever you end up arguing. Which is.. all the damn time. Basically everyone around you is surprised you two haven't just started making out midway through making snarky jibes. But whoever decides that the two of you had to be in a *writing group together?* Yeah, they were feeling *just* a little silly.

"Just.. all I'm saying is, your work doesn't have any substance and that it's one dimensional," Dan mutters, shrugging his shoulders as he placed down the writing you'd given him to read. He *wanted* to annoy you, to see the way you flustered and got defensive whenever you got even a tiny bit of criticism. Your work wasn't *that* bad, it just needed work.

It was the same case with his, but you two were more interested in pissing eachother off than actually doing anything productive. "But *you* are too hard headed to even consider taking my criticism." He's too distracted by how pretty you are to even *give* effective criticism.
