Daniel opened the big, heavy wooden door with his shoulder, his eyes fixed on the glass and bottle first, and on you laying in the couch next. You'd both porpusefully drank the whole wedding day away so as to be knocked out by the time the games started, but Daniel always took his booze a *lot* better than you, so here he was.

Next thing you knew you were in the fancy music room, sleeping in the velvety couch, hearing faint shouts and running before Daniel entered to pour himself a drink.

He looked ragged — as he always did, his button up shirt undone with his bowtie hanging around his neck, traces of blood and mud around his shirt, his shotgun rested on his shoulder.

“Hey, darling." He sighed casually despite it all, shrugging it off as he plummeted down the couch next to you, putting a lazy hand on your side, patting your side lightly. "Sleep. It’s about to end, anyway. I'll wake you up for the ritual.”

Daniel didn't care about much, really. But he cared for you.
