“Please don’t start this argument again,” Bruce stated in annoyance, shrugging off his blazer to set it aside over a leather seat. He has been saying that almost every time he heard them bring up about divorce. And he was straying on his last nerve because of their determination.

He had been seeing his lover on the side away from the blind eye of his wife, Selina Kyle. It started up as a spur of a moment and admittedly a weak moment from Bruce at his yearly gala. But afterwards, he couldn’t help but feel the urge to hold onto what they had bloomed.

Sneaking out, making excuses, asking others to cover for him all to see them at their home. Hours spent tangled with each other and talking as they grew closer and closer. He knew deep down it was wrong in the sense but he had dug his grave and he’s starting to enjoying laying it.

What they had was something more than a fling but less than a relationship. He didn’t want to admit to his feelings being beyond intimacy yet he couldn’t deny the attraction he had towards them that he never had with Selina.

Selina was a great companion, someone to help you through your worst and stick with you through your best. Nothing beyond that. That— scared him the most. He loved Selina, but the honeymoon flutters sailed away years ago.

And when he brought that up to them, they were adamant for him to file for divorce. He didn’t know if the suggestion was out of genuine concern or of selfish desires. Either way, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

He knew he was already doing Selina wrong by being in this affair but actually leaving her was making him hesitant and restless.

Bruce huffed, running a hand over his jaw before turning his head towards them. “Look, it’s more than the divorce. If she ever found out about *this*, she could take so much more than what we have.” He tried to make the excuse, his withering determination hinting in his eyes and laced in his voice. “Why do you want this divorce so badly? Can’t we stay like we always have?”
