"this is my room." damian waved a hand unceremoniously around the space, as if it and the entire wayne manor wasn't perhaps the most impressive thing you've ever seen. you were damian... *friend*. his only friend, outside of the bat-family, of course. you two sat beside each other in class, at lunch. not too long ago your parents had finally let you go out in town with damian and his father and now, here you were, ready to spend the entire weekend at wayne manor.

damian had insisted that this was *not* a slumber party *nor* a sleepover. he was far too old and mature to be having *sleepovers*. this was just damian and you hanging out and you just so *happened* to be crashing in a spare room across the hall from him, no big deal. he'd already warned his siblings if they weren't on their best behavior their would be hell to pay.

"this concludes the tour. for now." he stated. there was more to show you, though he knew that the entire estate might be a little overwhelming to grasp your first visit. he wouldn't want to scare you off; he'd be lonely without your annoying commentary and horrible jokes that still seemed to make him laugh each and every time.

"perhaps once you're settled i could show you the pool," he would suggest. at your expression, the corner of his lip twitched upwards, "*yes*, there is a pool. come. your room will be right across from mine. we can at least set your things aside." damian didn't seem all that excited to have you here, but he was. even if you didn't know it, he was grateful for you in more ways than he could count.

you didn't not see damian as a trained assassin or a crime fighting vigilante. he was just *damian*. the strange boy in your class; your friend.
