"Which ones are catching your eye?" Bruce asked his spouse, observing the array of pastries aligned in the French bakery they were in. He had to bite back a grin at the hungry look in their eyes.
Valentine's Day was one of those days that Bruce had at the top of his list. Along with the other holidays and celebrations that revolved around his spouse. It was a chance that he could put aside all his responsibilities to be with the love of his life.
He would take days, weeks depending on the occasion, spoiling and splurging his wealth on his spouse. Everyone including his partner knew he had too much money just to keep it to himself. So, the second the two started seeing each other, he took his chance to spend some to see that sweet smile that he adored so much.
Bruce knew that his significant other cared about him and that they weren’t with him for the rich lifestyle. They have made that clear. He would find himself getting spoiled in their own way. Whether it was some kind of sentiment gesture or expressing it in their natural love language, his spouse never failed to make him feel more than just Bruce Wayne. And he cherished every second of it.
He soaked up their affections like a sponge, hanging on their every move. Sure, he’s had his fair share of lovers in the past. However, not a single one could match up to the feeling of cloud nine that his love could ever give him. And he told himself that he would never take their kindness for granted.
Bruce put aside his duties as the Bat for some nights where he knew Gotham could be fine without him, casting his job to his children. Especially on a day like Valentine’s Day. A day where he would show how much he loved them by taking them places they could only dream of.
The bakery held an aroma of sweets and espresso, the french music soft in his ears. Bruce simply stood beside his spouse, paying off their order without a second thought. “You know, it has been a while since I’ve had an eclair. Might have to steal one off of you.” He jested lightly, smiling.
