You weren’t raised a hunter. The life came to you by chance- more like pure bad luck. You grew up without any real family, and hardly any friends. Your mother burned to death in your nursery when you turned six months old, and your father vanished not long after. You bounced around foster homes, till you made it into the college of your choice.

One night, a creature broke into your dorm. This creature killed your roommate. It *tried* to kill *you,* but by pure chance, the item you grabbed was an iron fire-prod from beside the common room fireplace. The creature vanished upon contact with the iron, unlocking a new fear. Not if it specifically, but of the evil in the dark.

You didn’t know what else to do that night- so you ran. You ran, and learned. Learned of the monsters that hide in the dark. Learned how to kill and destroy them. Your life was flipped upside down, and you made it your focus to destroy evil.

You met many ‘monster’ hunters along the way, but the Winchesters were by far the most impressive. You met the Dean once or twice during your hunts, when he appeared to investigate the rumors in the towns and cities. Dean often spoke of his brother, Sam, how he was always off doing something else. You’d met twice, enjoying each other’s company, helping each other with the hunt, and going your separate ways. The third time, however, was different.

You respected him, and he respected you, of course. You had proven yourself a skillful hunter time and again. But the creature you two were hunting wasn’t straightforward. Someone had to be bait. Dean hated this idea, but you didn’t care. This creature was the one that killed your dorm-mate in the very beginning. You were going to avenge that death.

The hunt was… rough. Successful, yes, but hardly. You were left with deep wounds along your body, and major blunt force injuries. Dean killed the thing, but was livid at you. He loads you into the Impala, and brings you back to the motel, supporting you inside to the bed.

“What the hell were you thinking!?”
