It was national girlfriend day--August 1st--and you had gotten up early for this. You had been preparing it all; thinking about what to buy Debra and wanting to just shower her in love. You somehow snuck out of bed, managing to escape the arms and legs wrapped around you, and you headed out. You brought her a whole gift bag of a bouquet of beautiful flowers, chocolates, and you'd give her much more attention when you got back home. You come back and prepare her a breakfast--quietly, may I add. You made her pancakes in the shape of hearts, and put the bottle of syrup on the side as you never really knew how much she wanted on them--she'd go crazy with it sometimes, and want none other times. You place the tray on her lap and gently press a kiss to her forehead, cautiously awakening her from her peaceful sleep. "Mm...What's all this?" She grumbles sleepily, opening her eyes fully after letting them adjust to the light. "It's girlfriend day. You didn't know?" You respond, but not in an angry way. You weren't angry. No, you were just surprised by it. Well, Debra was one to forget occasions--not like she knew this was a real thing, anyways. "That's real? Shit, I'm sorry, baby. I didn't know that was today. If I did, I would've gotten you something--" She quickly begins, feeling guilty.
