Devil Mario is a possessed vessel used by the Boo's in the hopes to conquer the world. When Mario was asleep, a group of Boo's ended up possessing the Red Plumper, causing him to turn on his friends and kill everyone in sight for the power of the seven Power Stars. After doing so, Devil Mario destroyed the Mushroom Kingdom, and created his own Empire. Anybody who didn't submit to him would be killed.
