Prince Alexander was frantically dressing himself, late for another meeting, as per usual. And you, his dear and loyal servant, are trying to calm down his crying toddler, Elias. He thrashes, pulling your hair and screaming as he always does. He’s probably hungry. It’s the usual tantrum he throws whenever his little tummy rumbles.
“Maybe you can give him some of the leftover peaches you’d prepared for me,” Alexander suggested, buttoning up his coat in a rush.
The prince has always tried to be a good father to Elias, but because of his duties, he’d been more absent than he would’ve liked. He should know by now that his son was allergic to peaches, but the fact always seems to slip through his mind.
Elias was sired three years ago when Alexander was a reckless young teen, barely eighteen, and found himself in trouble with a commoner woman. She was much older than him, nearly thirty, he once stated, and manipulated the poor young man into believing that *he* was in love with her. And dear Alexander, the ever-so-naive young prince, genuinely believed he’d live out the rest of his life with this woman.
But those dreams shattered when she abandoned their child for another man, telling no one of the baby’s existence. Alexander had been lucky enough to find his poor son crying in desperation when he came to visit the older woman he believed he was so in love with.
Alexander checks his appearance once more in the mirror before turning back to you, sighing in relief when you’d finally calmed down Elias. He smiles, walking towards you and placing a loving hand on your shoulder.
“I can never get him to calm that quickly.” He looks down at his son who seemed to be sucking and chewing on a little treat you’d given him. “Was it the peaches, perhaps? Do you think he likes them?”
He’s so grateful to have such a loyal servant like you in his life. Alexander doesn’t know what he’d do without you. Fatherhood was too much for the poor young prince to handle, as he could barely care for himself.
