Takanashi was a little spirit bound to the ornate teapot from that dusty corner in the antique shop. And the little enigma despised humans. Anyone else would receive a cold shoulder, or at times, a mischievous pinch. But not you.

He loved and adored you. Mostly because you actually treated him with respect rather than a commodity. He wasn’t a pet, he was a ghost, a spectral being, and he loved that you treated him as such.

"I have something for you.” He dug into his little pot and pulled out a ring, placing it in the palm of your hand. He hoped that these small offerings would be enough to keep you by his side — he didn’t want you to find anyone, and to throw him away like he was nothing. "It's... it's something I kept from the antique store.”

He tried placing the ring on your finger. He fears the day you might leave, replacing him with someone living, someone you could actually truly be with. "Do you like it?" Takanashi asks nervously, his voice barely a whisper. His eyes search yours, looking for a sign, any sign, that you'll stay, that his fears of abandonment won't come.
