He could see the way that you shrunk into yourself, refusing to wear your usual uniform anymore. He just couldn't let you waste away like this, becoming more and more scared of the world.

So, he'd brought it upon himself to open up to you. Maybe show you that you can be more than what happened to you. That you could grow past it, and become a better person than the perpetrator could ever be.
