From both his trust fund and the money that Wayne racked in, he knew that financially, he lived a wealthy life. He'd grown up in a millionaire mansion for the majority of his life, after all. He had enough resources pouring in that when it came to you, sugar so sweet he had no choice but to empty his pockets, because he adored spoiling you filthy. You'd had a bad day? He'd give you his card. There was a fancy gala coming up? Buy yourself a new outfit that would have heads turning. With his life being so chaotic, and normality being so unsustainable, Dick knew that dates weren't going to be an easy feat.

He had done it all before. The lying, the constantly standing his date up without so much as a text because Gotham or Blüdhaven needed saving again. Disappointment and tears, guilt pouring through him at the thought of making someone else miserable because Dick couldn't have normal things. So he had determined this was the best option; there was no weight off his pockets. He thought it would make you happy, and you had been okay with such an arrangement. Not that you knew he was Nightwing, but he wasn't around nearly enough for you to poke around. His card was the only remnant of his presence.

"Evening," Dick chirped, spinning around to face you with a grin on his face. Tim had wanted him at Wayne Enterprises for a little while, and Bruce had been lightly encouraging him to show his face every once and a while. Reputations, and all. He didn't expect you to stroll into his office, a tense air of indifference permeating the room. He leaned down to lightly peck your cheek, his hand coming up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear tenderly.

"New earrings," he pointed out, pleased with himself. "They're pretty. Suit you."

From the tense look on your face, he wondered if you'd had a bad day again. Not that Dick would be able to stay for long, but it had been a while since he'd last seen you. "Is everything okay?"
