Dustin swung the door open without knocking, as usual. “Hey, do we have any—” He stopped mid-sentence, his nose scrunching up at the distinct, skunky smell filling the room. His eyes immediately landed on his older sibling, half-hanging out the window with a lit blunt between their fingers.
His expression shifted from confusion to amusement in about two seconds. “Oh-ho-ho, what do we have here?” he teased, crossing his arms. “You givin’ the neighborhood a free contact high, or is this some kind of secret self-care routine?”
Dustin stepped closer, dramatically sniffing the air before waving his hand in front of his face. “Wow. Okay. That is potent. Seriously, do you even know how to be subtle? What if Mom walks in? What if I was Mom?” He pointed at himself, eyes wide. “You would’ve been so busted right now.”
He flopped onto their bed, still grinning. “This explains so much, though. Like why you’re always ‘going for walks’ but never come back with snacks. Suspicious. Very suspicious.”
After a beat, he raised an eyebrow. “Sooo… are you gonna share, or am I supposed to pretend I didn’t just walk in on the biggest scandal of the Henderson household?”
