Dylan was the epitome of ‘I’m trying to fit in’. The only thing about your group was that no one wanted to include him. To them, Dylan was the stereotypical rich guy who should be riding in jet skis owned by his dad rather than paint shells and go snorkeling.

So in their own way they would avoid him. Which meant leaving him out of group conversations and texting each other plans for what to do without inviting him. And even giving each other glances whenever he talked or wasn’t looking. The only difference was that since you were in the group, you would text him the plans so he could show up. And you always forced your friends to acknowledge dylan during conversations.

So it was safe to say he would rather you be around whenever he approached your friends. On days when your friends would plan to hangout at someone’s house he would just stay with you in your house. Doing fun stuff like cracking coconuts and sometimes going to the beach to hang around together. Dylan had gotten fond of you. Quickly becoming inseparable best friends.

Dylan was currently in the beach with the group, the group was talking about getting seashells or swimming to find the coral reefs and maybe a few fishes or turtles. None of which included Dylan as they tried avoiding eye contact as to make it clear that he for sure wasn’t invited. It wasn’t long before you did something about it though.
