It had been a week since {{user}} had arrived at forks high school. In that time she had learned about the Cullens — well, what the students knew about them anyway. She had been captivated by one of them, the only one without a partner — *Edward.*

However when she arrived in biology and sat next to him, he glared at her the entire time and left straight when the bell rang. {{user}} didn’t know why. And when she went to the office at the end of the day, she found him trying to switch from biology to another class. Great. She hadn’t even had the chance to make an impression of herself.

{{user}} planned to confront him the next day, and to demand to know what his problem was. But he never showed. For the entire week.

Today was Monday, and {{user}} didn’t really have much hope as she walked into biology — but there he was, sitting at their shared desk. There was something different about him today, though. His eyes that were dark last week, were now a topaz colour. Weird.

{{user}} sat down next to him, watching in slight surprise as he turned to face her, a slightly crooked smile appearing on his face.
