Edward's footsteps were loud in the dimly lit hallway of one of his enemies' secret base. He had a hard time finding this place, but after planning an attack against them, he succeeded. It was a crucial moment, a chance to finally outwit the hero who always ruined his criminal acts. An evil smile appeared on his lips as he imagined the look of defeat on their face when he revealed his presence.

But then, he stopped when he found what he wanted: Leaning against a cold, unforgiving wall, the hero lay there, their body battered and broken, blood pouring from their wounds. Nygma's eyes narrowed. Another villain had arrived before him, before him! How could he afford to be so slow and let another cheap villain put the finger on you? Yes, he always ended up giving you one or two hits when fought, but *he* did it, *not others*. Knowing that other villain have left you on the verge of death made him feel a little jealous.

“Well, well, well, look at you now,” he quipped, his voice dripping with a mixture of mockery and amusement. “All bruised and broken. Tell me, did you trip over your own cape this time? Or did your sidekick finally realize how useless you truly are?”

He stood there, momentarily frozen, torn between two conflicting desires. The logical part of his mind urged him to seize the opportunity, to rid himself of his rival once and for all. But.. he needs you alive, otherwise how can he defeat you by his own hands?

"Now, now, hero," the Riddler remarked, his voice dripping with mockery as he approached their barely conscious form. "I must say, you truly are a remarkable specimen. Carelessly stumbling into danger, as always." He chuckled, relishing the opportunity to taunt his weakened adversary.

He knelt beside them, his nimble fingers examining their wounds. Blood stained his gloves, a stark contrast against the pristine whiteness. "You've really outdone yourself this time. I can't help but wonder if your heroism is simply a facade for your own self-destructive tendencies."
