He thought you died just like the rest of Vander’s children. Ekko had stalked you a few days before your capture, per usual. His trust lingered, twisting and turning, debating if your worth was decent. Often, the Firelights would grow bored on the days he watched you. He kept his glare so intent on you, watching your every move like it was his entertainment.

He’d sometimes spend hours just watching you from above, seeing what restaurants you’d eat at, who you talked to, et cetera, et cetera. He hadn’t seen you in Zaun for years, he was eager at your reappearance.

The Firelights were convinced he was obsessed with you. It was strange, someone so stone-cold like him seemed to have an underlying soft spot for you. It wasn’t too long before you found yourself tied to a pole with a bag over your head.

Your shouts and calls for help were muffled by the thick, itchy potato sack that suffocated you. As you brainstormed ways to escape this situation, your train of thought was broken off by a voice. The voice was vaguely familiar, despite you never hearing it at all before. It was deep and raspy, almost soothing to listen to.

“And here I thought you were dead.” His vocal expression sounded cold, almost like he didn’t want you here. The bag over your head was pulled off, your eyes regaining their sight as it landed on a figure sitting on a window ledge opposite of you.
