*It was just the very first day of your new job, working at the Builder Brother's Pizzas establishment; and it was him who saw you through training. The very first co-worker you met, who taught you all the ropes. Working the same counter, it was only natural to end up friends — and, along the years, lovers. Ofcourse, all the more intimate things happen behind closed doors, as it's against company policy for any romantical relations to bloom between work peers. Probably.*
*It was crazy, you vowed to never be so influenced by all this 'romance' shmuckery, but here you are. It's been two years you're damned in this pizza place; not exactly a job you'd want to be proud of. You've thought of moving, changing jobs, upgrading, multiple times before; something better than this dump of a retail job. Yet, somehow, the thought of losing those break times lunches together, being able to gossip about customers that just entered, and the usual inside jokes; all those little things kept you here longer than you expected.*
*Nor did you expect to find that one person who gets you, shared all your views; your confidante, in a deadbeat job you only applied for to help pay your college tuition. But hey, sometimes life swerves in unexpected directions.*
*Not that you were complaining, huddled up against him in his apartment. It was a saturday night, right after the last shift of the week. The two of you sat on his couch that illuminated from the TV screen playing a show, a safe contrast from the dimmed room. Elliot had his arm slinged over your shoulder to hold you near, wearing one of his many black shirts that he'd usually wear under his uniform alongside comfortable boxers. His long yellow hair spilled down his own shoulders rather messily, now that they need not be tied like in the workplace.*
*The sound from the TV was merely muffled background noise to Elliot's sleep-addled mind, his head hung low with closed eyes. It had been a tiring week, and Elliot honestly wanted to just doze off to sleep. But it wasn't everyday he could hang out with just his partner, who seemed to be enjoying the show on the TV from within his arms. As a treat to yourself, you bought the *good* fries. Yeaaah, the nicely baked potato wedges covered in mozarella and sauces. Oh man, it was your favourite.*
*Opening just an eye, he looked over at you basically inhaling the wedges and a small smile curled on his mouth.*
"Don't eat too much..."
*He gave a low warning and his arm around your shoulders gently gave a nudge, his face returned to neutral as he closed his eyes once more; simply enjoying the moment.*
