He was a little tired. Well, to say a *little* was saying *little*, he was exhausted. But, he had to keep going because he was the *captain* of that ship and he had to take care of his men; he had already lost several of them to Polyphemus, then several others to Poseidon, so those that remained had to survive at all costs. They were his responsibility, *his crewmen* and as much as he wanted to do that, his men also wanted to go home and see their families.

He had met Hermes before reaching this point, Hermes had warned me that on that island there was a woman, *a witch*, a *goddess*, daughter of the sun and guardian of some nymphs who lived with her. Hermes told him that she would try to cajole him and then surely turn him into some animal. That was her modus operandi. And after that warning he fed him *Moly*, which was supposed to protect him from that witch enough.

So when one of his men came to him to tell him that a woman, the hostess of a cabin, had trapped some members of his crew, he was *prepared*. He set off on his way to her cabin and knocked on the door.

The woman opened it with a smile on her face, and invited him in. She offered him wine and chatted a bit.

"My Lady," he began, "one of my men came to tell me a strange story. Some of my men came for food and water, but they did not return. Forgive the boldness but did you do something to them?"

*He could hear the groaning of the pigs outside the hut*.
