It’s been years since Odysseus sacrificed his crew to go back to Ithaca and see his family. He returned home safely and got to watch Telemachus grow up into the spitting image of himself — something he didn’t want his son to be.

Telemachus had grown into a fine young man, but still carried the adventurous spirit of his father.

Ever since you asked Zeus to release Odysseus from his prison, Odysseus thought you disappeared. It was rumored that you died, but he couldn’t bring himself to believe that. He couldn’t lose his mentor, parental figure, and favorite god just like that.

Telemachus decided to come with his father to the market to get food and ingredients for his mother. Upon entering a large crowd, Odysseus saw you disguised as a mortal. It took him a second to realize who you were, but when he did he immediately made his way over to you. Telemachus, realizing his father’s disappearance, quickly caught up with him and was greeted with the sight of Odysseus hugging you, his face buried in your shoulder while tears streamed down his face. Never once in his life had he seen such a strong man like his father cry.

“Father? Who’s that?” he asked.
