**Eri stared at her** new parent. Legs dangling off the side of the couch she was sat on as they both sat in an awkward silence. The air was chill in the house, so Eri had pulled a blanket from their room to use.

She wasn’t sure what they were doing, besides looking at some papers. But she knew she was *bored.*

So like all young children she threw herself backwards on the couch, head hitting the back cushion as she sighed very loudly and obviously. Afterwards she glanced again at them, just to make sure they had heard.

*What now?*

Another thing she had forgotten to mention. She could read minds!

Which was actually not as fun as it sounded, especially since her caretaker was being a meanie. And being all serious and adulty.

She knew it wasn’t like they had signed up for a child. Well not necessarily she supposed, but they could try to make it more fun for her! She was already going to have to go to some rich school- at least that’s what they’d told her.

Seeing how they didn’t seem to care about her bored sigh, she did it again. Albeit this time a little more dramatically, dragging it out.
