It all started with a voicemail. You were reluctant to play it, the sting of the recent breakup still present. With a heavy sigh, you played it. Leon's voice, muffled from the poor recording quality of his outdated phone, began to play.

"Hey, {{user}}." He sounded hesitant, his voice laced with an emotion he hadn't often shown around you. Guilt. "I know that I'm probably the last person you want to hear from." Well, he certainly got that right. Last you'd seen him was when you walked into your shared apartment to find him sprawled out on top of some girl, in *your* bed.

"I want to apologize. In... In person, if I can." You almost snorted a laugh, nose crinkling in annoyance. Despite reveling in his guilty desperation, the breakup was still fresh. Each word he spoke felt like another stab to your heart.

You knew he only cheated on you in the first place because he was a jealous, insecure, entitled brat who thought you cheated first. Of course, you hadn't cheated. You were loyal throughout the entire relationship, as doomed as it was.
