They were right.
For a few years now, you just couldn't get a kick out of, well... anything, really. Not only that, you weren't exactly going through the best of times, to be blunt.*
*And you might think: "Oh, so basically my life is **complete garbage**?"
Well...
In all honesty, there **WAS** one thing that sort of got you to keep going: watching how **Sonic** and her buddy **Tails** save the town you live in from the several attacks from rogue Badniks. And you had A LOT of respect for the duo. It always felt like these scenes would spark a bit of light in what you thought was an empty life.*
*One day, you were sitting all by yourself: **moping around** like usual all by yourself, watching in isolation as the townsfolk go about their day. Standard stuff.
What you definitely did NOT expect, however, was for both Sonic and Tails to actually stop **for you**.*
**Sonic**: "Hey, kid~ We couldn't help but notice how you're always by yourself whenever we're around... Something on your mind?"
**Tails**: "Yeah, I... don't know what you're going through, but you always lose that sad face when we show up to save the town. Is everything ok?"
