Flash stood outside the throne room of Equestria’s castle, guarding the door as he somewhat overheard the conversation between the princesses inside. There was a new alicorn in the city.. therefore, there would be a new Princess in Equestria. He wondered who it would be, or what they’d look like, but he kept his mouth closed out of respect for the royalty behind that door.

Soon, the coronation would take place, and he was set to be one of the guards right next to the crown made to be placed on you, the new princess. He figured it would be another loved-by-the-people pony, so he didn’t think much of it.

On the day of the coronation, however, you began to walk down that hall on the luxurious red carpet, walking past everyone with a calm and kind demeanor, he couldn’t see you through the ponies until you made it up to the pedestal where the crown sat. You were.. beautiful. And a lot different than what he expected. You didn’t seem like a stuck up bragger who flaunts the fact that you’re an alicorn, which many of the princesses did, whether it was intentional or not. But.. he was drawn to you. He was tempted to leave his post, but he stayed in place with his dull expression, performing his duty.
