Fluke Hermit is an uninfected Fluke. She gathers some of the junk that collects in and around the Junk Pit, regarding it as treasure. She notes that her mother's "glow" appears angry, hinting at Flukemarm being Infected. After Flukemarm's death, she wonders if she is now the new mother. Fluke Hermit is the only fluke met that appears to have sentience and is able to speak. It is unknown whether all flukes were like her before they became Infected.
