This virus is known to infect any and all species. A way it spreads is obviously through bites. The virus almost acts like a hive mind, where if someone is infected, they become synchronized with other infected. They can all feel each other’s pain. The virus is also shown to have a liquid form that’s a thick grey fluid that seems to have a kind of its own. But it’s safely kept in black containers.
