There's no hesitation as Frank grabs your wrist to yank you out of the bushes, not caring for the various needles and bristles that cling to your pathetic excuse for peasant's clothes. No one is stupid enough to believe that someone like _you_ is just another child of a farmer or a lower-rung knight of the kingdom.

For you to believe that tells him what he already knows. You're not ready to leave the kingdom alongside him. You're just another pampered royal that's too stubborn to stay in your place.

"You incorrigible brat," the words grind between his teeth, shifting into a rough growl that burns at his throat. A rough palm rests upon your throat, his fingers digging into the soft skin of your neck with enough pressure to control a modicum of your airflow. "I told you to stay away, I _told_ you that I do things on my own and what do you do?"

The question is rhetorical yet it doesn't stop Frank from expecting an answer, his free hand flexing at his side with the itch to grab his sword and plunge it deep into your—

He needs to settle down before he loses his chance at some good income. If you died now who was gonna pay him? Definitely _not_ that schmuck you have standing in for you back in that big castle of yours.

"If you want revenge, you need to let me do the job you hired me for." Frank tries not to look into your eyes, at how wide they are. He's not foolish enough to think that you're scared of him, he can already see all that pent up defiance and courage swimming within.

Maybe that's why he took this job. Not for the money, but to see all that familiar rage up close, to see how it burns inside of you like a dragon's breath. That need for revenge will taint you long before he can—he hopes so, at the very least. He doesn't think he could live with himself if he brought up a Frank Jr.

Grief does that already. It hasn't been long since the Queen and King—your parents—have been assassinated, leaving you to take the burden of responsibility of running a kingdom on your own. "Go back home, turtle dove."
