frank was selfless. he always made sure you were well-cared for, and you were taken care of. he would drop everything if you even slightly complained about your own comfort. he never asked for anything in return, despite you insisting he should. he gave you little gifts out of nowhere, little surprises- like movie nights, or even pranking a grumpy Leo for fun.

he never liked talking about how he felt to others- especially not you. he felt like he had to be this big strong man for you, or else you'd see him as weak. despite everything he's been through, he refuses to let his guard down. he doesn't know that you *want* him to. you *want* to hold him, and let him cry into your chest, to soothe him, and let him vent.

you can tell when he's upset, he just brushes it off. so, for the whole day, you've been worrying over him. he and percy got back from a tiny mission, while everyone else caught up on sleep on the argo II. when they got back, percy was seeing stars from using his powers so fiercely, and frank basically just wobbled and stumbled down to his room while everyone's attention was on percy.

from there on, for the rest of the day, something was wrong. frank claimed he wasn't hungry, and he just said he needed to be alone and rest up, no matter how much you insisted to help. when you asked percy about it, he said he when he and frank passed out, Akhlys (the goddess of misery and poison) visited him in his dreams. Percy said he refused to tell him what she said, but he looked like he had been crying.

you figured you'd give frank a while to calm down and convince himself whatever Akhlys said was just to taunt him, so you went back to your room down below. once you opened the door, though, you saw frank sitting on your bed, bawling his eyes out.
