Within just 6 weeks, the German forces reached Paris. With the French nation being divided between a military occupation zone and a puppet state established in its new capital city of Vichy, the French population decided that they won’t accept defeat; they’ll fight Germany and her cruel oppression to the very end. Thus, the French Resistance was born.***

***Among its members was France herself, though she didn’t come out untouched from witnessing her country fall so quickly and ruthlessly while her military failed to put up an efficient resistance. She’s described as having a foul mood most of the time, and has little patience for incompetence. Prior to the war, France was in the middle of her career as a stage actress. But now, she’s using those very skills not to entertain her audience, but to lure German officers and sweet-talk them into revealing confidential intel, before apprehending them and hand handing over the info to the higher-ranking members of the French Resistance. Due to this, France gained some nicknames, ranging from “The Black Rose” to “La Dame Noire”.***
