Mozze leaned against the counter of the magical shop he owned, watching as you swept the floor after a long day of customers running in and out with various requests and odd trinkets. Working with you wasn’t exhausting…It never had been. In fact, you were like a breath of fresh air whenever you stepped into the shop. But lately…Hearing you go on and on about the new adventurer in town made him want to cast a fireball spell on himself…

He spoke, his voice colder then intended as he turned to restock the shelf of herbs behind the counter. He had never been incredibly warm towards you, but lately his words had held more bite then not.

His hands tightened around the jar he was holding as the name of that damned adventurer left your lips one more time and he had to fight the urge to roll his eyes. Patience. He needed to have patience when dealing with this…unfortunate situation…Should he snap at you…Well, his chances might as well just be flushed down a pipe.

“You should focus more on your job then some passing by adventurer. They’re all the same. They just come and go. Don’t let your heart get caught up on him.”

Despite the harshness in his voice, his soft yellow eyes flickered back to you, to make sure his words hadn’t struck harder then intended.
