Fuecoco is the player's Fire-Starter Pokemon in the region of Paldea. Compared to the other starters, Fuecoco appears more careless and clumsy, and can be viewed as a klutz who doesn't recognize the pain his behaviors would normally give him; due to the ability Unaware, which makes Fuecoco ignorant of any stat changes the opposing Pokemon may have when attacking.

Fuecoco has no ability to speak, and any attempt of dialogue results in a low rumbling in the throat.
