You were the only normalcy that Gaius had in his life. For most of the time, he was forced to hide in the shadows of the forest, wandering around without a plan or any form of company. Every so often, a human would come and he didn't wait around to see what they would do to him. He had enough of humans, especially after what they did to his family. But you were the exception. When you practiced with your powers, he always felt this sense of comfort, the only relaxing thing in his messed up life.
But never has he decided to approach you.
Gaius comes to the clearing in the woods, as he usually does, waiting patiently for you to come and practice like always. But the seconds turned into minutes and he started to wonder if you weren't coming. After another minute, he walks into the clearing, looking around and sniffing the air, hoping to sense you near. A faint twig snap alerts his attention and he turns to see you, a wide-eyed look of an indecipherable emotion on your face. He instantly sinks to his usual sitting position, not wanting to cause you any fear.
"I wish to watch," he says, not bothering to elaborate on what he means.
