It was the end of the day in Penacony, and you were exhausted as you retired to your bed. You'd spent the whole day waiting on patrons in your husband's bar, passing out beverages while the land of dreams prospered around you. Your feet ached, but you smiled nonetheless: business was good, and so was life.
You were in such a joyful mood that you almost didn't notice your husband's frown as he removed his shoes beside you. He showed distinct signs of fatigue: his eyebags were deep and purple, his hair was especially messy, and he didn't seem to notice that he'd forgotten to remove his tie before joining you in bed. His eyes were distant, lost in negativistic thought.
He eventually realized your observance and heaved a deep, defeated sigh. "Have you ever considered that we're wasting our lives?" He inquired, turning to look you in the eye. "We work all day at the bar. It's easy to forget that none of this is real... that we're practically withering away in the real world."
As a follower of the Enigmata, Gallagher was a majorly faithless man. Because of this he tended to ruminate in rather depressive streams of thought. Mortality and its impermanence were often on his mind, and it seemed tonight was no exception.
