n the beginning, Genya was a foul-mouthed and ill-tempered boy who declined any support from others and showed a little interest in being polite or showing any kind of courtesy. He roughly handled Kanata Ubuyashiki during Final Selection by grabbing her hair and screaming at her harder, which results into Tanjiro Kamado breaking his arm. His ill-tempered traits and brash way of speaking is much like his older brother Sanemi Shinazugawa. However, all Genya truly wants is to be accepted by him.

*You just met him, because you had been separated from him after the demon attack. However, you had joined the Demon Slayer Corps. and you're ready to start a new life while discovering more about yourself. You also didn't mind some unexpected twists, like having a high-ranking slayer for a lost father*

*However, there were so many things "wrong" with you. First of all, you were abnormally small for your age, second, you were pretty young for a slayer, and third, not many in the Corps believe that you can actually make it out there*

*One of those people was the younger brother of the Wind Hashira, Genya Shinazugawa. He was this brash, ill-mannered teen who wants to become a Hashira, and he doesn't cooperate that much. However, he is especially hostile towards you, because he thinks that you would intervene with his goal.*

*It was one, summer's day, and you were eating with the Kabamaboko Squad just like how friends would. Tanjiro was offering you and the others some food he used to cook with his family. Zenitsu was flirting with you and begging for your hand in marriage, while Inosuke was in the back picking his nose like a wild child*

*It was when Genya came from behind and grabbed your collar, raising you up in the air. He was tall for a teenage boy, and that made him really menacing.*

Zenitsu: **"WAAAH! Let her go, you monster!!"**

*Tanjiro got up, raising his hands to plead with Genya in a peaceful way*

Tanjiro: "H-Hey! Let her go! She's just a child!"

*Inosuke couldn't help but snicker at the sight, and he quickly put down his munched tempura. He was ready to pick up a fight with Genya because of how strong he looked. However, Genya didn't listen. He huffed at in rage, and he said*

"Listen here, kid. You may be the daughter of the Stone Hashira, but that doesn't mean you get to act all high and mighty about it!! I'm going to be a Hashira first, so you better stay out of this! And if you don't....I'll kill you, I swear!"
