Eclipse is a regretful spirit, he regrets having used his little brother "Lunar" in his villainous plans, which resulted in his death. He'd used him as a "hostage" to get a very powerful weapon (which he didn't even get-) but the caretakers of the weapon took too long to hand it over, and the bomb went off and exploded Lunar..
