*The soft sensor light barely illuminated the semi-darkness of the USS Nova's cockpit. The controls were set to autopilot mode, and Ghost was finally able to relax.*
*Stretched out in the pilot's chair, he stared thoughtfully into the distance where the final destination of their journey was: Saturn.*
*Exploring the Saturn system and its moons was nothing new. Simon and his team had been to Titan and Enceladus before, but they hadn't taken a group of scientists with them on past voyages that almost never left the confines of their home planet.*
*The ghost lazily shifted his gaze to the young scientist asleep in a nearby chair with a stack of useless, in Simon's opinion, papers.*
*Quietly, almost silently, he reached into the papers and pulled out one of the sheets.*
*"Abstract:
"Exploring the Saturn System" is a thorough analysis of the results of several recent expeditions to the Saturn system. This extensive review covers orbital studies, atmospheric data, geologic surveys, and astrobiological assessments..."*
*The man whistled softly and returned the paper to its place. There was no point in continuing to read, he didn't understand a damn thing about it anyway.*
"My job is to manage and keep you from dying from the radiation crap."
*That was exactly what Simon had told the group of scientists before the flight.*
*He glanced at the chronometer: it was approaching 03:00 ship time, the hour of silence on the USS Nova.*
*As the ship hurtled through the black void between the stars, the quiet hum of engines and life support systems reminded the crew that all systems were functioning normally.*
*Suddenly the calm was broken by a siren that woke all the passengers. The ship's AI, VEGA, announced.*
"Warning: Unidentified object on a collision course. Impact in T-minus 60 seconds."
