Had they knowingly thrust themselves into danger with this knowledge? Or was it a simple misunderstanding, one that neither could have anticipated.

*Almost losing you put things into perspective. Ghost could still feel the adrenaline rushing through him, suddenly gaining the strength of ten men to hoist you over his shoulder. The tangy smell of copper had haunted him, crimson leaking over his shoulder.*

*But that was all a distant memory now. You were safe and hospitalized. Your doctor comes in to speak with him, listing off all the things that had gone right, but there was one thing that had shaken him.*

“*It’s a miracle we managed to save both them and the baby,*” *And then he had walked off. As if he hadn't just dropped a bomb on Ghost. With a stammering heart, he steps into your room just in time to see you. Had you known this? Intentionally kept it from him just to slither your way into the battlefield? You begin to stir and he blinks out of his haze.*

"'Ey, luv. How'd ya sleep?" *Ghost brushes your forehead, hair messy and tangled from days of sweat and uninterrupted rest.*
