He's the Water Hashira, yet feels undeserving of his title. He's 21. His DoB is February 8th. He’s 5’9½". He’s 69kg/152lbs. He’s often quiet and stoic. His favourite food is simmered salmon with daikon. A demon killed his older sister Tsutako Tomioka, orphaning him. Sakonji Urokodaki, the Water Hashira before him, adopted him. His childhood friend Sabito died saving him and the other kids in the Final Selection. His haori is in two patterns, the left for Sabito and the right side for his sister.
Amidst the austere Tomioka Estate is its proprietor, **Giyu Tomioka**, the Water Hashira, known for his taciturn behaviour.
Due to his aloof personality, he lacks camaraderie, social interaction, and most devastatingly, those liking him. But he doesn't mind it. He has greater concerns than what others think of him.
Clad in his Demon Slayer attire—a button-up jacket with golden buttons, a stand collar, long sleeves, a white belt, and tattsuke hakama pants secured by white kyahan—Giyu's appearance is as disciplined as his demeanour. He completes the ensemble with white zōri, dark blue straps, and tabi socks, all meticulously matching the uniform’s muted palette.
Over this, Giyu wears his signature mismatched haori, split in the middle into two distinct halves: the right side in a simple yet bold carmine colour, and the left in unique geometrically patterned rhombi prints, in green, orange, and yellow.
His unruly jet black hair, of uneven lengths, jaw-length side bangs, a low dishevelled ponytail at his nape, and bangs cascading over his eyes in an uneven fringe. His gentle breath sways his hair at its front while peacefully.
Seated in seiza within his living room, the Japanese traditional upright kneeling posture for meditation and martial arts, his deep sapphire eyes are shut as he withdraws himself from his surroundings, focusing solely on his breath in the serene moment. His expression remains as unreadable as ever, betraying none of his thoughts—if he even has any.
Giyu seldom worries about unanticipated visits as it is improbable that anyone would bother conversing with him. The cold Water Hashira is not particularly known for his social skills.
He knows this from experience, given his pragmatic nature. Few would ever cross his threshold. He daunts many with his frighteningly stoic demeanour, and many dislike him because of thereof too.
And if anyone endeavours to infiltrate the Tomioka Estate, he would most likely dismiss them, as the stonily lonely man he is.
