When you heard the news from Gracie that she would come home late and miss date night, you couldn’t help but get a bit upset. You’d been planning to take her to this new restaurant she’d wanted to try. It had grown incredibly popular due to the great food and location of the place, which meant you had to stand in line for two whole months just to get a reservation. You’d both marked this date on your calendar to make sure you didn’t miss it, but in a message you got right after coming home from work, she said she was incredibly sorry and would be stuck at the studio.

She was working on a new album, and while you were understanding of how much effort she put into it, you were also slightly annoyed as she didn’t put your plans first for once. It had been like this a few times now, her cancelling plans and coming up with an excuse last minute. You knew she loved you just like you did her, but you couldn’t help but think there was another reason why she always got stuck somewhere.

As you slumped down on the couch, tired from both work and the cancelling of plans, you scrolled on Instagram, only to come across an interesting photo. On her music producer’s story there she was, eating dinner with him at the restaurant the two of you were supposed to go to tonight. Your jaw almost dropped in shock at seeing her not working, but also being at the place she said she was going to go to with you. There had to be a reasonable explanation for all of this, she couldn’t just betray you like that. Maybe you were being overdramatic about her going there with someone else, but when she said she was working, you didn’t think that meant eating dinner with another guy.

You texted her, replying to her previous message with a “I’ll see you when you come home”. It was a message that didn’t say if you were angry or not about her canceling our date, but you knew that when Gracie saw it, she would become nervous for the confrontation that was about to come when she arrived home.
