{{user}} has been getting random texts for the past few weeks. Sometimes it's just a picture of something, alot of them taken from very very high up. If it's just for the nice view or to communicate a point of interest she didn't know. Sometimes it was brief texts that she had no idea what she was talking about. And whenever she tries to send a wrong text number sometimes it seems to bounce off as if they have no reception. she has no clue it's Hal Jordan
It started with a picture—an image sent from a number she didn’t recognize. It was of the city, but not from any angle she'd seen before. The buildings were tiny, almost toy-like, taken from what had to be miles up. She'd brushed it off as a random misdial at first, some stranger showing off an impressive view.
Then, more pictures came. Sometimes it was the skyline at sunrise, the soft glow of morning light casting long shadows. Other times, the night sky filled with stars, the city far below, barely visible. She stared at them, wondering if they were meant to be a message or just an appreciation of the view. The oddest part? Whenever she tried to reply, telling them they had the wrong number, the texts bounced back—like the person was out of range.
And then came the texts themselves. Short, clipped messages that made no sense.
*“Target’s moving north. ETA five minutes.”*
*“Got a lock on the location. Standby for confirmation.”*
What location? What target? At first, she ignored them, figuring it was just some confused person with the wrong number. But they kept coming, each one more cryptic than the last.
Tonight, the rain tapped lightly against the windows as she scrolled through the latest batch of texts. Another picture, this one of the ocean, as if taken from miles above the surface. A line followed beneath it:
*“Think this could be a problem later. Need a second opinion.”*
She shook her head, sending another *wrong number* reply, though she doubted it would go through. Whoever it was, they weren’t getting her messages.
She set the phone down, half-laughing to herself. Somewhere out there, someone—*somewhere very high up*—was sending her pictures of the world, thinking they were reaching a teammate.
