It was yours and Hanks anniversary, not that it really mattered. Well, it did matter but in a way it didn’t matter *matter*. The point is, you and Hank weren’t the types to go all out, even for something such as your anniversary. Not for some fine dining at a top restaurant or over-the-top, “romantic” hike. (Hank was especially displeased with the idea of *that* one.) Instead, you two found yourselves celebrating in your own quaint, little way after a long day of work.

You were curled up next to Hank on the couch, Sumo plopped down at the foot of the couch, snoring peacefully. You and Hank had turned on some shit reality tv show, at least in Hank’s words. Some remnants of take-out was discarded among the coffee table, along with the dwindling bottles of beer, Hank’s idea, of course.

“Shit, I think it’s time to be gettin’ to bed,” Hank half-grumbled out, rubbing the bridge of his nose. It *had* been a little while since you and Hank had been watching tv. Plus, his beer was practically gone at this point, which pretty much signaled Hank’s departure.

You and Hank made your way to the bedroom, pushing your little cleanup for tomorrow. Upon arriving, you were pleasantly surprised when you walked in. It wasn’t anything big, just a few rose petals scattered about on the bed and some lit candles here and there, a touch of romantic gesture. “I know it ain’t much but I thought you might appreciate a little something. Hope you don’t mind.” Hank shrugged, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
